Pro-Life

Bill is unreservedly pro-life. He has worked to defend the unborn and to protect children in our midst from human trafficking. As a result, Bill has one of the most pro-life voting records in the entire state of South Carolina. He strongly believes that Planned Parenthood should be completely removed from our state.

Pro-Second Amendment

Bill had stood strong in defense of our Constitutional rights to own a firearm for defending ourselves, our families, and our property. Bill is also an ardent advocate for our traditional values of hunting and fishing and will stand up to the radical Leftist who want to outlaw all shooting sports.

Education

Even with the efforts of our many fine teachers, too often school boards and Columbia bureaucrats require them to spend long hours filling our reports rather than actually reaching. Bill believes money budgeted for education should be spent on teachers and students not administrative bureaucrats. To attract the best, South Carolina’s teachers should be hired on merit and empowered to achieve new levels of excellence in education.

Crime & law Enforcement

Bill has worked closely with Sheriff Chuck Wright on legislation to reform our prison system. This innovative effort allows convicts to get a reduction in sentence if they engage in good behavior and work on behalf of the community such as by cleaning up the roadsides. Bill is a strong advocate for enforcing the rule of law and keeping our communities safe.

Taxes

Several pro-business organizations have recognized Bill for his strong support for reforming the tax code in order to alleviate he burden on South Carolina’s families and employers. His goal is to make the South Carolina tax code flatter, fairer, and more competitive with neighboring states. Bill votes to lower taxes at every available opportunity and fights to keep the government out of our pocketbook.

Immigration

Long before Pres. Obama drew his mythical “red line” in the sands of Syria, Bill Chumley was already leading an effort to highlight efforts by the State Department to resettle Syrian refugees in Spartanburg County without proper vetting. As our representative, Bill is pushing to equip law enforcement to cooperate with federal agencies to help protect our borders.
