A native of Reidville, farmer and small business owner, Rep. Chumley and his wife Faye have two married sons and four grand-children.
Rep. Chumley founded and operates four businesses. His business experience and insight have resulted in 7 U.S. Patents and 3 Federal Trademarks.
As a conservative leader, Rep. Chumley has received consistently high marks from conservative, pro-business organizations and has been consistently rated “A” by the National Rifle Association and one of the highest-ranked House members by the South Carolina Club for Growth.
Rep. Chumley was appointed to serve on the Agriculture, Natural Resources & Environmental Affairs Committee by the Speaker of the House.
Bill has deep roots in our community. He is a co-founder of the Reidville Historical Society and he helped organize the Friends of Ben’s Creek citizen’s group. The Chumleys are active members of Poplar Springs Baptist Church where Bill is a deacon.
In the House, Bill has proven to be a conservative leader on issues from defending the unborn to our Second Amendment rights. Among his colleagues, Bill is highly regarded as a thoughtful and consistent conservative voice for reforming state government.
House District 35 encompasses southwestern Spartanburg County including Reidville and Woodruff and a small portion of Greenville County.
